Uncanny Inspirations

by Hastypearl

Hi all.

I’ve been thinking about You and me, this morning.

My thoughts were triggered by and Uncanny Inspiration, that happened to me last week.

I, probably like You, like to collect images of inspirational scenes. Let’s face it, that’s what much of social media is about …ie, Pinterest, Instagram.

When I was younger, I would keep actual files of paper images. Today, we each keep tens of thousands of virtual images, in the Cloud.

Anyway, I found this black and white image below, of a girl walking next to the sea, on a fantastic cobble path.

It was my inspiration for a WIP hastypearl piece, shown to its right.

I thought, there is overwhelming stimulation out there, and it doesn’t even just have to be paper. It can be all kinds of sensory events. I wondered how much of the Best of it You and I capture and study with our eyes, ears, nose, taste, touch ?

So, back to my Uncanny Inspiration !

While watching an obscure French film on Netflix, the lead female character fell to her knees, and look where she WAS!

She was at The Same Place, as the original image I spoke about, below !

Now, You may know where this exact place is in the world, I do not.

What I’m thinking about  is…it was a specific thing, that I was Supposed to see…and I got to see it, Twice.

I immediately stopped the movie and took a picture of the screen, happy, that I hadn’t missed that beautiful image, either time.

So, my question for us is…Do we Catch it?

Do we have a rhythm that’s slow enough, alert enough, to catch THAT SPECIAL THING, that is there JUST FOR Us? : )

They are after all…Gifts, You know.

They could be…

A Fragrance.

A Lyric.

A Smile from a stranger.

The Satisfaction in a grandparents eye, when they hold their child.

A Word, Quote or Scripture.

The Sunset. Sunrise.

The Rustling sound from a Blowing Tree.

The sound of someone Laughing.

The Sight of a fledgling, begging it’s mother for a meal.

The Insect you’ve never seen before.

The Nest found on a branch.

The Siren that reminds us to pray for the responders, inside.

Life is SO AMAZINGLY FULL.

Maybe my alertness is heightening because of my age, I dont know, but I dont want to miss a single moment of it !

Here is the black and white image I saw in a catalog of all places, next to my WIP Hastypearl art piece, it inspired.

Here is the Same image that later showed up on a French film I watched…What are the ODDS?

We were given 5Five5 senses to Use.

Did you know, that there are actually whole industries, teaching people how to have an Alive Mind and use those senses.

What a pleasurable task, to teach our brains to accept the stimulations that are around us.

And the fun thing is, it’s Free!

No one has to pay to recieve everything that is out there waiting for us. All we have to do is show up and participate, in the activity!

While I’d would like to go to France, and stand on the cobbles next to the sea like in the image, until then, I can just look, and smell and taste and hear and touch the things, that are ALREADY NEAR ME!

I hope this topic hasn’t been too simplistic for you. If so, maybe it was meant just for me.

I am still gladly learning how to be a Person, after all : )

Brass Door Push Plate

Christmas Pears gifted to us

Figs that I dried this morning, to use in my breakfast cereal

Fresh Lettuce from the Farmers Market, that actually comes with soil and creatures on it, like real food does !

Antique Door Bulls Eye, that has paint layers upon layers, of history

Antique Glassware in my Kitchen Window.

It’s all WAITING for us.

I confess, that I wish I was a fly on Your wall, to see what things You capture, in your life.

Here’s to a challenge for us all to slow down a little bit and be hunter gatherers, of Beauty and Delight !

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a minute to read Hastypearl. It makes me happy that you do.

Hanukkah is over and Christmas is coming fast…

If I don’t post again before then, I hope that you have the Most Wonderful Christmas Ever!

Isaiah 11:1

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse: from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

Galatians 4: 4-5

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive sonship.
